Folks, I’m gonna level with ya: this newsletter almost didn’t come together because I was derailed for about four hours yesterday afternoon by the Mark Robinson scandal in North Carolina. I somehow managed to pull it together, however, but it sure as hell wasn’t easy.

I do talk a bit about that today — not too much, though, as true art should speak for itself and be allowed to breathe — but I also talk about Shohei Ohtani’s monster day and historic achievement, the Guardians clinching, why the White Sox suck, talk about the video of Julio Urías assaulting his wife, Charlie Culberson retiring, my political typology and whether that even matters, a new moon, and immortal jellyfish.
